CONCLUSION


To conclude, HRIS play an important role in managing the human resource in the organization.  However to ensure it effectiveness, manager must have the ability to extract the cost and all the benefits from the staffing activities.  Therefore how the information can be used for competitive advantage, web based self-service and also management in recruiting and staffing is a few from the information that an HRIS experts must identified and implement it in the organization.  In order to compete with other due to the technology changes manager must take a serious consideration on those things.  Other than that, the technology system had brings an organization to a new ways to a new business practices.  Thus, organization must be ready to adapt and use the new technology system and plan carefully on how to use it.  Otherwise, it can bring a disaster to an organization because the management dose not knows how to use it effectively.

HUMAN RESOURCE RECRUITING AND STAFFING


Changes of technologies nowadays had change the way an organization manage their employee.  Therefore, in recruitment and staffing process they had done it through technology system.  Recruitment according to the business dictionary meant the process to attract a qualified candidate with the right skill from outside of company meanwhile staffing meant the selection and training an individual with a specific job function and assign them with the suitable responsibilities.
In addition, nowadays most of the organization used E-recruitment system such as jobstreet.com, monster.com and mystarjob.com in recruitment process.  Through the e-recruitment candidate can applied the job and employer can advertise their vacancies through internet.  In addition, an organization can cut their budget on the advertisement and can get a large number of candidates in short time.  Other that that, it also helps the employer to make the selection process easier and candidate can know the vacancies in the organization quickly.
Moreover, through HRIS recruitment can be done faster because it helps an organization to stimulate the changes in organization and conditions and as a result personnel need in the future can be determined. Therefore, HRIS expert need to understand the uses of internet for recruitment and selection in order to provide information to the company and uses it to demonstrate the company investment assessment.
However, in selection there had been a few technological issues arise.  One of it is the uses of computerized and conventional assessment to be used in ability test.  However, the uses of computer is more quickly to test the ability test since computer can assess many people in a short time rather than using the manual to process the test that been made in the paper.  Another issue is the unproctored (unsupervised) testing.  Most company use the online testing to assess their employee, therefore the possibilities for unproctored issues is high.  Thus, company cannot identified either the employee identity is valid or not since the employee had gone the test without been supervise.
In addition, the HRIS expert plays an important role in solve the problem by using the technology, make decision and use the e-recruitment system in order to ensure that the right people been choose to work with the organization.  Thus, it can provide the organization with an effective system that allows the process of recruiting and staffing is quicker and faster.

WEB BASED EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE


Employee self service ( ESS) is a combination of technology and organizational change that allow the employee to access their personal record, own account, payroll detail and also request their own holiday leave online.  It also allowed the employee to access their data, and act upon the transaction that occurred in the workplace.
Through the ESS employee and also the customer can access the information and do the task over internet without interact with the representative of the organization.  Therefore it enables the communication across the organization been carried out effectively.  Other than that, it also can increase the efficiency and also provide a better employee services.
Furthermore it also beneficial for the employee.  This is because through the ESS manager can access the employee record and used the information.  The uses of ESS can help the employee to access it easily because they can access it every day at anywhere they are. Thus, it gives accommodation to the employee and employer who do not have opportunity to access it anytime they want.
Moreover, there are three types of self-service application which are internet, intranet and interactive voice response.  However, commonly been used is the internet and intranet.  The organization can choose either to used internet or intranet.  Employee can uses the intranet to access the self-service through the connection from computer to another computer network in company.  Therefore, intranet access is denial from outside.  Thus, it can ensure that there will be no hacker to intrude the information in the computer.  Employee can access it through their own desktop or computer in organization.
Differently from intranet, internet allowed the employee to access the ESS from everywhere.  It is a way where employee can communicate with other employee at another country.  Usually company will use firewall to prevent the intruder.  Other than that, employer also implements the security protocol when using the internet.  This is to ensure the safety of the information. Therefore, organization must decide the best types of self-service to be implemented in their organization.
In addition, there are many benefits that employee and manager can get from the self-service.  As been said earlier employee can access their personal information, submit holiday request online and plan their own duty roster.  Meanwhile manager can use it in order to give or decline the employee holiday request, record employee absences and view the report for forecasting.

INFORMATIOM AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES


Nowadays technology is very crucial to every organization.  This is because changes of technology have transformed the business practices in organization. Other than that, as the size of the company increase and the business are more global, it has become almost impossible for the top manager to know what is going on around them.  IS system not only consist hardware and software but it is a tool that can help the organization.  Information either for the present or future that been provide by it can be used for the marketer to gain competitive advantages.
In addition, to develop strategies to be used in the business practices an organization must first identified the competitive forces that exist.  One of the biggest forces is the rivalry.  In all types of business there will always be a rivalry.  Other than that, to compete in the market there will be new substitute products.  In addition, to satisfy the customer need an organization must comes with new idea and product that can capture the market share.  Other than product, organization also must take note on the bargaining power of the customers and suppliers.  This is because they play an important role in the sales of our product and services. Furthermore, there will be new entrants that will exist in the industry and the markets.  Thus, number of competitors will increase and we need to upgrade our business to a higher level to compete with them.  In addition, the main question here is how IT can be used to overcome all those forces.
However before that, there are five competitive strategies that can used to counter those forces.   It includes the cost leadership, differentiation strategy, innovation, growth, and alliance strategy.  Through the competitive strategies an organization can implement the technology for their business uses.  In differentiation, an organization can use the IT to promote their product and services that no one else had done.  With the uniqueness it had it can make business more appealing to other and increases the markets sales.  Furthermore, in innovation organization can create new product and service that include IT components.  Moreover, implementing an IS system can make the employee job more efficiently and easier for them to move to another task.  Other than that, the businesses that use IT can decrease the competitiveness differentiation with their rivalry in aspect such as product, services and capabilities.

INTRODUCTION


I'm Nur Farhana .  Now i'm studying at UTM in Human Resource Development.  HRIS is one of the subject that i had took. Nowadays almost every organization uses technology in their business process.  This is because technology changes had influences the way an organization operates.  In addition, it is important for the manager to have the knowledge on the new technology system and how it can be used in the organization. 
Therefore, HRIS is very important in an organization.  HRIS is a software that help an organization to manage their human resource, management, accounting activities and also the payroll either small or big business sized.  In addition, it also been called as the Human Resource Management System and Human Resource Informational system. 
The most effective HRIS is enables the manager to access the accurate job requirement, internal and external labor sources.  It also can help the manager to plan a long and short-term HR management plans from the data and ensure it effectiveness.
